Gettin' hairy with Ty Segall

Ty Segall describes himself as an “insecure male struggling with his problems.” It’s a surprisingly forbidding summation from a garage-rock wunderkind who expelled one of Pitchfork’s tip 50 albums of 2011.

At usually 25, Segall — who plays The Independent on Wednesday — has expelled some-more than 12 albums, any exploring opposite facets of murky garage-rock. Although they change in sound and expanse, all a albums seem to be secure in something singly West Coast.

Born only south of Los Angeles, Segall changed to The City during 18; his song blends a rawest tools of stone from any Californian pole.
