Tucson Oddity: Goop, a Green Alien, sticks around

It’s splendid green, about 13 feet high and sticks a tongue out during everybody who looks during it.

Its name is “Goop,” and a sculpture used to live during Magic Carpet Golf, until he was adopted in 2009 after a mini-golf course’s closure in 2008. Goop now resides during 5733 E. North St.

The being, that was combined by artist Lee Koplin, was one of a many Koplin sculptures during Magic Carpet adopted by Tucson residents and businesses.
