Anaconda's third ‘Stand Down’ lends assisting palm to internal vets

For some of a veterans, it’s been years given they’ve hold an Army-green duffle bag.

But during a American Legion’s Stand Down eventuality in Anaconda Saturday, late troops group and women toted newly released bags, that they filled with government-issued goods, like garments and blankets— for free.

By 8:45 a.m., a line outward Anaconda’s Armory was 100 people deep. Veterans stood sensitively in singular file, watchful for a doorway to pitch open.

The group and women represented each fight in U.S. new history, including Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan —even World War II. Veterans from all branches of a troops stood together, waiting.
